Complementary financing and competences
NEFCO is one of three Nordic international financial institutions that cooperate and offer complementary financing and competences. The other ones are the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) and the Nordic Development Fund (NDF). All three institutions are located under the same roof in Helsinki, Finland.
The Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) offers long-term financing to projects that improve productivity and benefit the environment of the Nordic and Baltic countries. NIB is governed by constituent documents adopted by its member countries Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
The Nordic Development Fund (NDF) provides financing for climate change and development projects primarily in low-income countries. This includes concessional financing through loans, grants and equity often as blended financing packages. NDF is a joint development finance institution of the five Nordic countries Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
