Finnair selects NEFCO as a partner for its new CO2 offset service

The Finnish airline Finnair has selected the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) as one of its initial partners for its new CO2 offsetting service ‘Push for change’ launched today. The service allows Finnair customers to offset the CO2 emissions of their flights by funding an emission-reduction project or by supporting the use of biofuels.

Nordic financing gives a boost to clean energy in Ukraine

A new solar power park is being installed in the southern part of Zhytomir Oblast, east of Berdychiv in central Ukraine. The Danish company Better Energy A/S, the Danish Sustainable Development Goals Investment Fund (IFU) and NEFCO are co-financing the second phase of the construction of the 19 MW solar park that will produce green electricity for the Ukrainian grid. The first phase of the project started in June and the aim is to get operations up and running by the end of December.

NEFCO is taking the stage at COP24

The 24th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is held 3 - 14 December in Katowice in Poland. In connection to the Nordic Finance day on Tuesday 11 December NEFCO is arranging two events in Katowice at the Nordic pavilion and taking part in a panel discussion of an official UNFCCC side event.

NEFCO to support growth of Nordic green companies through Loudspring Plc

NEFCO has signed a convertible loan agreement with Loudspring Plc to a total amount of up to EUR 2.5 million. Loudspring is an industrial group focused on saving natural resources through investments and ownership in Nordic growth businesses that are making a big environmental impact. The technologies of these companies save energy, water and materials in industry, real estate and in everyday life.

Citizens to benefit widely from new energy-saving measures in Central Ukraine

NEFCO has signed a loan agreement with the city of Kropyvnytskyi in Central Ukraine to implement energy-saving measures in the city. The building of the comprehensive school No. 31 will be refurbished and the street lighting upgraded. In addition to saving energy and mitigating climate change, these measures are expected to bring a range of benefits to the citizens in their everyday life.
