Baseload Capital Holding AB and the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation, NEFCO, have agreed on a financing programme to accelerate the building and deployment of Heat Power plants on a global scale.
The Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) is co-financing the construction of the largest wind power plant to date in Ukraine. The 250 MW wind farm will be built in Kherson Oblast in south Ukraine. The project is co-owned by the Norwegian windfarm developer NBT AS and French renewable energy Independent Power Producer (“IPP”) Total Eren S.A.
NEFCO and the state-owned Ukrgasbank have today launched a new facility to support the implementation of renewable energy projects in Ukraine. The EUR 10 million facility will finance projects implemented by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) over a period of seven years.
The Finnish airline Finnair has selected the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) as one of its initial partners for its new CO2 offsetting service ‘Push for change’ launched today. The service allows Finnair customers to offset the CO2 emissions of their flights by funding an emission-reduction project or by supporting the use of biofuels.
A new solar power park is being installed in the southern part of Zhytomir Oblast, east of Berdychiv in central Ukraine. The Danish company Better Energy A/S, the Danish Sustainable Development Goals Investment Fund (IFU) and NEFCO are co-financing the second phase of the construction of the 19 MW solar park that will produce green electricity for the Ukrainian grid. The first phase of the project started in June and the aim is to get operations up and running by the end of December.
The 24th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is held 3 - 14 December in Katowice in Poland. In connection to the Nordic Finance day on Tuesday 11 December NEFCO is arranging two events in Katowice at the Nordic pavilion and taking part in a panel discussion of an official UNFCCC side event.
